Review -- The Wild Irish Sea by Loucinda McGary

The Wild Irish Sea by Loucinda McGary

This book had both romance and mystery and I loved it. How couldn't you fall into the pages with such fascinating characters including a selkie prince: a sexy, Irish police officer, a feisty American, smugglers, big brown-eyed seals and three adorable youngsters. Amber O'Neil answers her brother Parker's telepathic plea for help even though they are separated by two continents and an ocean. Before she can think it through, she finds herself leaving California and trekking across muddy back roads in coastal Ireland. She turns up in the middle of a storm seeking the police as Kevin Hennessy is preparing to spend a solitary night in at his late father's cottage. They set off on a wild adventure in search of the missing brother Amber insists is in danger and along the way they find a connection neither is sure they really want. Can two people wounded from painful divorces and life's obstacles discover a reason to trust again? Kevin is a man dealing with an extremely painful past and he is such a wonderful combination of tough and vulnerable. The relationship between Amber and her brother Parker is wonderful, my sister and I have always been close but this sibling connection is amazing. The chemistry between the hero and the heroine is sizzling and their dialogue and interaction is captivating. I read this book in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down. The only thing I did not like was the fact I was reminded that I never found myself an Irish hottie while vacationing on the Emerald shores. This is a great read for relaxing at the beach or pool and equally well suited to curling up in front of a fireplace. This author is definitely going on my must-read list.

Drawn together by a force they can't resist...

The telepathic image of her twin brother fighting for his life sends Amber O'Neill rushing to the rocky shores of Ireland. Desperate to find him, she turns to reclusive local inspector Kevin Hennessey.

Bound together with a passion as relentless as the tide...

His past full of pain, Kevin has withdrawn from the world. But when the rain-drenched American appears on his doorstep with her wild tales of danger, something more than her sensuous beauty makes it impossible for him to turn her away.

The wildness of the sea, the mystery of a selkie prince, and a dangerous band of ruthless smugglers bring two lost souls together in a connection of mind, body, and spirit that can't be denied.
