About the book:

Lovestruck veterinarian Marcus Hill thought he could wait for a relationship with Jane, but he's offered his dream job in another state. It's time to go.
Headstrong Jane Tipper is going to miss her best friend, but she understands why he's leaving. She, too, has a career agenda she won't alter for anything or anyone. Never again.
As their last week together approaches, their desire for each other hits high gear. Ending as friends with benefits sounds good in theory and feels even better. What could be better than a week of incredibly hot sex with your best friend? Neither one regrets it. Until it's time for Marcus to go.

As a young girl I fell in love with a close friend and because I never had my happy ending I’m not usually fond of friends to lovers stories, but my goodness I loved this one by Dalton Diaz. I just zipped through the story feeling as if I was genuinely embroiled in the outcome of this story. The talented author used no embellishments and focussed solely on the main couple. This is simply a character driven love story and I found myself spellbound. I’m a fan of paranormal and suspense yet this tale was solely a love story, simple and unadorned. I truly fell into the story and felt myself holding my breath as Marcus and Jane tried to make things work. It’s hard for me to explain just why I became so attached to this couple and their relationship. Actually wait a minute, no it isn’t -- the author pulls you into the story and so skillfully wraps you up in the emotions that before you know it you are enjoying the ride right along with Marcus and Jane until you finish reading the last page. When character and situation are so well written who needs excess? Do yourself a huge favour and read this one, if only to see how it should be done.
