Title: Vanished: from the files of Blake Turner
Author: Larry Payne
Genre:  Crime Fiction, Short story
Length: 33 pages
Published: November 2013 by BookRix GmbH & Co. KG
Rating: 3.5 stars

About the book:
Jason MacDonald disappeared after leaving on a business trip. The police couldn't find him. Now, Malcolm MacDonald has hired Blake Tanner to find out what happened to his son. Can Tanner reheat the cold case?

This is a supper quick, supper Sam Spade-like mystery and it is perfect if you are looking for a mystery while you're taking your coffee break or waiting to be called into your doctor's appointment. I enjoyed the gritty main character and the old-fashioned gumshoe feel the story had. I might have taken a little more pleasure in this story if I'd had a little more background but I didn't feel lost or too confused. If you enjoy a good old-time classic private eye adventure you'll no doubt enjoy this.
