I am so happy to bring back this feature to my blog and to do so I have one of my absolutely favourite authors ever and someone I am lucky enough to call my friend.
the lovely Ashlyn Chase and she answers a fun question and introduces her new hot hero!
Have you ever been pulled over by a cop?
Yes, and I used to be married to one, so I learned how to get out of tickets. Here's the formula:
Be respectful. Don't argue. Apologize, even if you didn't realize you were in the wrong. Give a short explanation for your behavior.
They call smell lies, so tell the truth. I've gotten out of tickets with some of the dumbest explanations:
1) "I'm sorry. I didn't see that red light. I worked the night shift, and I was spacing out a bit."
The cop said, "I worked the night shift too. Go home and get some sleep."
2) "I'm expecting a call at 10 p.m. I was hoping to get home in time to answer it and didn't realizing I was speeding."
The cop smiled and said, "He'll call you back."
3) "I've been out of the country and completely forgot about getting my car inspected last month."
The cop said, "You have a 10 day grace period. You're 11 months late."
Believe it or not, I still didn't get a ticket! They must realize people are just dumb sometimes, and I'm blonde, so that may help.
Now, with all that set-up, I can talk about my March 2019 release about a rookie cop!

A Phoenix is Forever.
It's about Luca Fierro, the youngest in a family of shapeshifting phoenix firefighters. (They call him the Blue Sheep.) He has been accused by his brothers of being 'babied,' and they don't think he's cut out for police work, so he has plenty to prove.
Dawn Forest is the love interest. She's a former gang girl and a psychic. She had to tell the gang where and when it was safe to conduct their 'business.' Her mother is in prison and Dawn's trying not to go down the same path. Finally getting her associates degree and a good job, she's turning her life around.
Then along comes this cop who needs her help locating a missing child. The last person she should be seen with is a cop. The last person he should be consulting is a criminal. But he's the only Boston cop who believes in psychics, and with a four-year-old girl's fate hanging in the balance, they'll do whatever it takes to find her. Neither one of them could have foretold falling in love.
That's not the official blurb. Some editor wrote a better one, but I'm just answering that age-old question, "What is your book about?" I'm not psychic, but I figured you'd want to know.
This is the 3rd book in the Phoenix Brothers series. This Fierro family was introduced in the Boston Dragons series. My Wild Irish Dragon is about the eldest, Ryan Fierro and dragon-shifter Chole Arish. Never Dare a Dragon is about the second son Jayce Fierro and dragon shifter Kristine Scott.
Then the Phoenix Brothers books pick up where the dragons leave off. Hooked on a Phoenix is about Gabe Fierro and completely human Misty. The latest release More than a Phoenix came out in September and features two of the sons, Dante and Noah plus the lovely human Mallory and good witch Kizzy.
