Favourite Author Friday

I'm so excited to be bringing back this feature where I will introduce some of my most favourite artists. Authors are my Rockstars and I go quite fangrrl! I've been lucky enough to run into Viola Grace on more than one occasion and let me tell you I truly adore this wonderful witty woman.

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

Right on time (except for this. This was lat. Sorry Venus)

What's your favourite part of the human face? Why?

The mouth. It tells you everything from mood to hygiene. Tension shows even if the person is trying to hide it.

What song gets the most play on your IPod right now?

My songs know what you did in the dark.  Its a great treadmill song and great for plotting.

What was the last thing you ate?

A blueberry nutrigrain bar that I had to share with my cat. he likes the oaty exterior

Have you ever been pulled over by a cop?

Yes. Once. I made a --what seemed to him to be an illegal right on red, but I was actually behind a parked car--and I was so shocked by being pulled over that I just burst into tears. It was before my meds kicked in.

What was the last picture you took with your phone?

My sister's cat sleeping on my bed, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket.

Have you ever danced in the rain?

Of course, but only when no one is watching. I come from a very critical family and they don't appreciate things like feeling fat warm raindrops on every part of you while fog creeps in. 

What was the last lie you told?

Yes, Venus, I will get this to you on time.

What is your perfect pizza?

Triple pepperoni, double cheese, bacon, mushroom and green pepper.

What cheers you up?

Glow sticks.I buy the little packs of glow sticks at Michaels and use them in case of emergency. Light makes me happy and colours more so.

What is your favourite book?

Grimm's Fairy tales. There is something in there for every mood, and amazing plot fodder.

What is the longest you have gone without sleep?

72 hours. I had just lost a job and didn't know which way to go. I had never been unemployed before (I started work when I was 13) So I made a quilt decorated with dimensional paints and kept going until it was finished. 

What is your favourite midnight snack?

Popcorn. Hand's down. It is warm and starchy and you control the butter level. I do hate the flossing that comes after.

What was your favourite toy as a child?

A book. Any book. 

Do you scream on roller coasters?

No. I am generally a breath-holder. I am just about purple when the ride is over.

Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?

Nobody. I wait until they are all home and then blast them. They ignore me because I am only arguing with fictions of my own imaginings for the most part. 

Who is the last person you argued with?

My brother. Nothing serious but sometimes you just wanna verbally scrap with someone. :)

What TV show do you secretly enjoy?

Nightmare Neighbors. It gives insight into the human crazy.

Do you prefer flowers or chocolates for Valentine’s Day and why?

I buy myself both, or nothing depending on my mood. I have never had a partner for valentines day so I don't get the fuss. 

What is your favourite flower and why?

I have two. I love blue irises next to pink roses. The combination never fails to make me smile. I just get a very peaceful feeling when I see them. Instant meditation.
