Six Sentence Sunday -- Holiday Shower

I'm feeling a little festive this Canadian Thanksgiving weekend so for this Six Sentence Sunday I decided to share a snippet from my Short Story Holiday Shower.

Jeff took my hand in his and brought me to my feet. He smiled down at me and kissed my forehead. He then gently massaged my head as he shampooed my hair and thoroughly rinsed it. He even toweled my hair and then ran the brush through it and I was transported back to the many evening when I’d sit on the floor watching television at Karen’s house and Jeff would play with my hair running his fingers through it, braiding it and brushing it. Karen had constantly teased him asking if he wanted to be a hairdresser when he grew up but I had loved it. I was lost in memories of the past until I felt Jeff haul my nightshirt on over my head. He picked up my ruined underwear and with a shrug deposited them into the wastebasket.

Sounds like he's always cared for her but she hasn't worked that one out yet :-)
