Six Sentence Sunday

With a new year beginning I find myself thinking about the past and possibilities. I hope you enjoy reading this snippet as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'm still trying to figure out how to work it into a WIP or give it a story all to itself :-)

The opening notes of If Tomorrow Never Comes is blasting out of the speakers as numerous couples take to the dance floor. He quietly asks if I’d like to dance and I shyly say yes. He takes my hand in his, then we step onto the dance floor and my heart seems to skip a beat as he turns to face me. With our hands are still loosely, clasped together I place my hand on his shoulder as he circles my waist; we sway to the music. Both a little shy, both a little stiff. When he gives my hand a gentle squeeze I glance up into his eyes.
