Happy Birthday to Me!!!
I closed my eyes to blow out the candles and make my birthday
wish. Reggie’s hand wrapped in my hair and his lips plundered mine. I didn't
know if I wanted this to be daydream or reality. I'd spent weeks after our separation
waiting for him to come for me. Beg me to come back but it had never happened.
I missed his warm touches and his gentle humor and that he protected me from
his domineering older brother and his village elders.
I was just about over him.
He popped into my life again.
I couldn't open my eyes.
