Review -- Tropical Heat Series by Sophia Knightly

Title: Tropical Heat Set
Author: Sophia Knightly
Genre: Contemporary
Length: 292 pages

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

About the book:

In Wild for You (Book One), Detective Clay Blackthorne has his hands full when he promises to safeguard an old college pal's sister without letting her know what he's up to. He never imagines that lively Marisol Calderon will knock his socks off and put a ring on his finger--and all at his suggestion! Their marriage of convenience is meant to protect her and Clay doesn't plan on being hitched for long to the tempting beauty. But the honeymoon sure feels real to him...

Sassy Marisol is used to doing whatever she wants--and right now her plan is to shake up the hot detective's hard-edged demeanor. But the fun turns to danger when a mystery stalker bent on marrying her marks her as his prey. Temporarily becoming Clay's wife seems like a practical way to thwart the stalker. But as passion ignites and Marisol falls for the tender heart buried beneath the tough detective's chest, Clay's true identity is revealed and she begins to wonder who--if anyone--she can trust...

In Sold on You, (Book Two) Confirmed bachelor Dr. Marcos Calderon is in hot water. He needs to come up with a fake fiancée fast or he'll disappoint his beloved grandma who's arriving on the next flight to meet her. Proper social worker Gabriela Morales should fit the bill--but tonight, in that sexy, slit-to-there red evening gown, she looks anything but proper.

Gabriela only volunteered for the hospital's charity bachelorette auction to benefit a cause dear to her heart. Now she's reeling from the hot doctor's bid of fifteen thousand dollars for a weekend date with her! She's not sure what Dr. Handsome has in mind, but the smoldering look in his eyes is unmistakable...

This box set contains two fabulous stories full of similarities and differences. Both stories have strong heroines and even stronger heroes. One story has a little more action while the other has a more subtle appeal, but both are truly pleasing. I'm a fan of this author and love her sweet, yet sexy stories. Both stories are heartwarming and could have easily become typical fare but the author's skillful storytelling takes it up a notch. I stayed up all night reading these stories, and wasn't sorry once all day for my lack of sleep. In fact I'm looking forward to many more of this author's stories, leading to many more sleepless nights. If you are looking for some wonderful old-fashioned romance this set is the perfect choice.

In this fiery second chance at love, whose heart will be tamed?

I love Scottish hotties and Alec MacLeod is the perfect Highland hero. I’ll admit I’m not usually a fan of reunited romances but I love this author and the setting so I thought it wouldn’t kill me to give it a chance. I’m so glad I did. This was a wonderfully sweet and energetic quick read, full of emotion and it takes place in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. I have read Heart Melter so it was nice to catch up with some old friends but I know they definitely would not impede anyone’s enjoyment if they hadn’t read the previous story, however I can bet they will want to after reading this sexy short.

Review -- Heart Melter by Sophia Knightly

Title: Heart Melter

Author: Sophia Knightly

Genre: Contemporary

Published November 2013

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

About the book:

He was her fiercest protector...and her heart's captor.

Scottish surgeon, Dr. Ian MacGregor, has no desire to see his ex-fiancée again. But when the dazzling Broadway star lands in his office wounded, the healer in Ian can't turn her away.

Natasha White has no idea why anyone would knife her on a crowded street in Times Square. At first she thinks the cut on her thigh is an accident, but as frightening events unravel, she learns the mob is after an incriminating flash drive and will stop at nothing to reclaim it. She's grateful when Ian whisks her away to his castle in the Highlands, far from the mob.

Irresistibly drawn to her, Ian tries to deny the sexy sparks that ignite as he becomes her fierce protector. Their hot chemistry deepens into strong feelings as they dodge impending danger, and he fights to keep her safe. Ian will do anything to guard Natasha, but will their love be strong enough to survive the shocking secrets revealed?

I love Scottish men and Ian is a definite hottie Highlander. He is the ultimate Alpha male and protector so it is no surprise when Tasha is in trouble he will stop at nothing to protect her. He seems like a hard man but he is a man who has been hurt so his actions and manners are justifiable. Natasha is a complex heroine who I couldn’t help cheer for. After getting to know her friend in the first story I knew that I would instantly bond with the other girls from camp but I was surprised at how fast I became invested in her life. I loved Ian’s aunt and uncle and completely lost my heart to wee Arthur. And as a animal lover I cannot resist when genuine pet affection is displayed in the pages of a book. This story had everything you could want in a story, action romance and a fabulous setting. I was lucky enough to visit many of the places in this book and I was transported back to my trip as if it were yesterday. Sophia has a wonderful storytelling talent, transporting the reader to the time and place she describe, her characters quickly become friends and family and this book proved just how skillfully she is. I would highly recommend this to any and every romance fan as it is simply a wonderful love story.
