I hadn't been to the cottage all season and when I finally
decide to surprise Jeffrey I find no sign of him. The place was a mess but I
was happy to notice the printouts by his computer. His muse was back thank goodness
because when he had writer's block he was a nightmare to live with. I was
surprised to find the old telescope on the front porch trained on the new
structure across the lake. And even more surprised to find Jeffrey and some
stranger in the water. I was sad my son hadn't shared this with me.

Writer's Block the ultimate hell! But what a nice release.
Surprise, surprise. If it was my son, I think I would just pretend I didn’t see it. ^_^
Sharing such an intimate secret isn't exactly easy. Loved your post, Venus.
Oh wow..not the way you want someone to find out...Great FFF
Interesting. A little hard to follow in only 100 words, but that might just be the nature of the piece. I didn't understand that the man entering was the father, and it felt like an odd twist at the end. I think that also left me feeling a little off/out of place with the piece. I love the descriptions of what he found and what that meant to him. You definitely have the base for a great piece, but I think the ending may have been rushed.
Thanks for posting! So much fun reading what everyone puts up.
Wow, Venus. That is a different take but well done!

Her son. Interesting! Such a mom to comment on what her child hasn't told her. Is the new neighbor the muse I wonder?
Fantastic FFF!
